My teaching style is very relational — I am warm and hands-on. It’s important for me to meet students where they are, to connect their own interests to what we are learning. Both online and in-person tutoring involve games, kinesthetic techniques and direct instruction – including tricks to make learning stick. I also offer the unique service of being a liaison between parents and teachers. As a teacher, I know the in’s-and-out’s of school expectations, and as a tutor, I know how to support learners that might not be receiving what they need at school. I approach this dialogue with consideration and care for both sides. My goal is to positively support the child, family and teacher; often knowing that everyone is in communication gives the student extra motivation to succeed at school as well.
